STI Implementation Plan Released

TargetHIV

HHS has released an implementation plan on specific actions for entities to take in preventing and treating sexually transmitted infections (STI). The STI Federal Implementation Plan outlines roles (federal and nonfederal), progress indicators, and planned actions under the five goals that were outlined in the STI National Strategic Plan that was released December 2020.

HRSA-specific actions cover, for example, training of health care providers through the AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC), dissemination of the STI Toolkit (Addressing STIs: Ask. Test. Treat. Repeat.), Ending the HIV Epidemic funding on PrEP and STIs, information sharing on telehealth and STIs, and providing STI care to patients receiving HIV services from Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program agencies.
