Building Blocks to Peer Success: Training HIV-Positive Peers to Engage PLWHIV in Care

Description

Toolkit to assist trainers and program directors in planning a peer training program for HIV-positive peers who work to engage and retain people living with HIV/AIDS in health care. Sections include:

  • Main toolkit sections are: Introduction; Using the toolkit to design a training; Facilitation Skills; Training Modules; Training Evaluation; and Appendices.
  • Toolkit Modules go into depth on key topics and serve as standalone training tools. They include core competencies for peer training (HIV/AIDS, communications skills, peer role, and putting it all together/jeopardy interactive training covering all of the above core competencies); activities; continuing education; and case studies/scenarios.
