HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau has released a Policy Clarification Notice (PCN) 18-01, Clarifications Regarding the Use of Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Funds for Health Care Coverage and Premium Assistance. This PCN outlines the requirements regarding the use of RWHAP= funds for premium and cost sharing assistance for the purchase and maintenance of private health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare coverage. The requirements to use RWHAP funds to pay for premiums and cost sharing assistance for private health insurance and for Medicaid remain the same as described in early PCNs. PCN 18-01 also clarifies that those requirements also apply to use of RWHAP funds to pay for premiums and cost sharing for Medicare.
