Fifteen minute video from the keynote presentation given by Dr. Steven Bromer, Medical Director of Practice Facilitation with the HIV-MHRC at the Strategic Planning Workshop in Baltimore, Maryland in 2013. Dr. Bromer compares the cost of health care in the United States to that of European nations. It has been reported that better primary care, quality health of care and lower cost are some identifiable attributes associated with better health outcomes found in many European nations. Dr. Bromer also discusses the relationship between physicians and their clients. He asks, “Will the healthcare system in the United States continue to slowly crumble?” Fortunately, one solution to improve the longevity of the United States healthcare systems lies in the implementation of the Patient-Centered Medical Home.
