QI Efforts Increase Cervical Cancer Screening

Chicago and Santa Rosa have seen increased rates of cervical cancer screening among HIV-infected patients as a result of quality improvement activities carried out in partnership with the National Quality Center, a project of HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau for Ryan White grantees. The programs, Santa Rosa Community Health Centers and the Chicago Department of Public Health HIV Primary Care Program identified baseline screening rates, set manageable goals, and designed interventions. Cervical cancer screening is a core performance measure for Ryan White programs.
