Description

These 2-day sessions (June 6-7 in New Brunswick, NJ or June 26-27 in Charleston, SC) will be held with Ryan White grantees participating in the Part C/D QI Initiative to accomplish the following objectives:

  1. To provide participants a solid understanding of quality improvement (QI) theory and methodologies, and their application to advance Part C/D quality improvement activities
  2. To further gain an understanding on how the Part C/D Initiative and the in+care Campaign milestones are related to the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, and the importance of sustaining improvement gains
  3. To utilize site-specific quality improvement findings, including recent organizational assessment scores and performance data results, in promoting a sustainable quality management infrastructure and a culture of continuously improving HIV care
  4. To foster a community of learners to promote peer learning and exchange
  5. To become familiar with recent clinical advances and developments, including the Mississippi Baby Case

Each participant is expected to:

  1. To actively participate and complete all training activities, including post-training assignments
  2. To develop a work plan with grantee-specific action plans and targets based on agency performance findings and Part C/D Initiative expectations
  3. To initiate or advance a quality improvement project focusing on a key aspect of HIV care
  4. To identify a peer grantee to exchange quality improvement challenges and successes

The Newly Funded Part C and D QI Initiative started January 2013 and will run through June 2013.
