HRSA/HAB is convening a two-part webinar series to support its curriculum Integrating Oral Health Care in HIV Primary Care Settings: A Guide to Oral Health Care for People Living with HIV/AIDS.  The curriculum is designed to assist primary care providers—including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and case managers—with the information they need to recognize and manage oral health and disease for people living with HIV/AIDS. The curriculum has five chapters: oral health and oral screening; oral diseases; dental emergencies; dental management and patient education.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the importance of oral health.
  2. Understand a systematic approach to an efficient oral screening.
  3. Recognize the role of the primary care clinician in promoting oral health.
  4. Describe the elements of effective medical-dental collaboration and dental referral.
