International Twinning Center

International Twinning Center

The HIV/AIDS Twinning Center strengthens the human and organizational capacity necessary to scale up and expand HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment, and support services in the focus countries of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, PEPFAR.

TA and Training Services

The Twinning Center’s programs focus on human resource development strategies that address the HIV/AIDS epidemics in these countries. Through the establishment of volunteer-driven institutional partnerships and the placement of qualified individual volunteers, the Twinning Center contributes to the President’s Emergency Plan goals by:

  • Strengthening educational institutions and training facilities
  • Training and mentoring individual caregivers
  • Developing models for improved delivery of services and for rapid scale up of interventions
  • Transferring appropriate technology

About the Twinning Center

The American International Health Alliance established the HIV/AIDS Twinning Center in 2004, with collaboration from the International Training and Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) and Futures Group. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services funds the project.
