Description

Strategies and lessons learned from SPNS oral health initiative grantees on effective ways to engage and retain clients in HIV oral health care. The document outlines the following engagement in care methods: marketing, outreach to other service providers, transportation assistance, use of a mobile van to co-locate services, and word-of-mouth. In addition, retention methods are also outlined and include: appointment reminders, patient navigators, dental case managers, hiring staff with the skills necessary to interface with clients, patient education, and incentives.
