This webinar will focus on the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in the provision of services to people living with HIV. Participants will learn how CHWs are utilized within the Virginia Department of Health. The presenters will address program planning, funding, and the scope of work for CHWs and integrating CHWs into Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program activities to enhance HIV prevention, care and treatment services and to improve health outcomes along the HIV care continuum.

This series is part of a HRSA cooperative agreement awarded to Boston University’s Center for Advancing Health Policy, funded by the Health and Human Services Secretary’s Minority AIDS Initiative Fund (SMAIF). The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to increase the utilization of CHWs to strengthen the health care workforce and improve access to health care and health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority people living with HIV.
