Topic: Fiscal Management

In addition to online reference and training resources, intensive technical assistance (TA) on fiscal management is delivered to grantees in group and individual sessions. Participants are selected using a needs-based partnership application process and referrals from HIV/AIDS Bureau project officers.

• Technical Assistance Costing Tool (TACT)
  TACT is an Excel-based software tool that lets providers identify how much their services cost, using basic patient information to calculate patient care expenses and providing cost information that can be used for billing and reimbursement.
• Communities Learning Together: Advancing HIV Care and Support through Fiscal Management and Organizational Development
  This project included a series of in-person and web-based trainings. The slide/handout packets cover topics such working with boards on fiscal issues, budgeting, income diversification, legal issues, financial planning, fundraising, and strategic planning.

Training

HealthHIV will conduct four two-day regional fiscal management trainings in the 2011-12 grant year on behalf of HRSA/HAB. These events include tracks for new fiscal staff as well as experienced managers. Contact Shar'ron Tendai from HealthHIV or your project officer for more information.
